Sooooo I've been a crazy-gym-goer since I joined the LA Fitness... so crazy in fact, that I do believe I've been to the gym 5 days a week the past few weeks!! Crazy right?
My crazy gym schedule:
Monday: Step Sculpt Aerobics
Tuesday: 30 minutes elliptical, 1 hour Yoga
Wednesday: 30 minutes elliptical, 1 hour Pilates
Thursday: 30 minutes elliptical, 1 hour Yoga
Friday: rest
Saturday: rest
Sunday: 1 hour elliptical, 30 minutes free weights
told you I was crazy... I plan on taking some measurements after 1 month at the gym (so about two weeks left) just to see the results of my insanity. : )
Let's see how long I can keep this up!!

A Partner in Crime . . .
Yesterday I received a text from one of my besties that she had joined the same gym as me, and wants to start taking the body sculpting classes, and pilates, and yoga.... Apparently she went to go buy new jeans, and she decided she wasn't going to allow herself to buy a new pair of jeans until she needed a smaller size... so she used that money and joined my gym!! YAY
I get waaaaaaaaaay better results when I have a gym/workout partner picking me back up when I slow down... this seriously is so motivating!! I'm thrilled.
Body Sculpt class tonight, Pilates on Wednesdays and Sundays, Yoga on Thursdays and Saturdays.... look out everyone, I'm becoming a gym rat!!!

I read somewhere . . .
. . . That 70% of weight loss is influenced by diet,
and 30% is influenced by exercise.
I totally believe this is true. Why?
Because when I work out really really hard... I only lose a pound or two.
Then I stop working out really really hard, and I only gain a pound or two.
My only consistency in this so-called diet is my eating habits...
As much as I'd like to say I eat healthy, the truth is: I eat pretty badly...
Somewhere along the line my food conscience {you know, the little person in your head that tells you 'you shouldn't be eating that'} fell asleep or went on vacation and never came back. Or maybe it's on hawaiian time... and doesn't get to tell me I SHOULDN'T until 3 hours after I DID.
The only time I tell my self that's a bad idea, is after I've already eaten it... This is something I'm trying to work on... eating only the good stuff. Snacking on only the good stuff. WANTING only the good stuff.
** and by 'good' I mean healthy : )

My first fitness class. . .
Last night I attended my first fitness class... and I'll say this:
It was interesting, and effective. I'm very sore today.
It started off with some silly warm up routine you might find on a Richard Simmons video...
I felt a little silly waving my arms in the air and doing the grapevine steps... I was trying with all my might not to laugh at myself when it completely changed gears and kicked my butt. Full squat position while doing weights... a pliƩ position while doing curls and squats simultaneously. Honestly my brain had trouble keeping up because we changed things up so much it was like a dance routine...
After it was all said and done I think I enjoyed it, and it passed the test when I woke up sore this morning. Because honestly, if you're not getting sore, you're not working hard... right? PLUS it's on a Monday night... the busiest night at the gym... so I'd rather do that class than fight people for a treadmill or elliptical machine.
Now, if only I could find a friend to go with me....

So I know it's been like years since I've posted . . .
But I did something crazy on Friday. Something I've been wanting to do, and dreading to do at the same time. I finally swallowed my pride, got up the courage and did the unthinkable....
I JOINED A GYM.
Amazing isn't it? Now I will be forced to go to the gym and work out, or pay my "fat tax" which is my gym membership. First class is tonight.... Body Sculpting. Yipeeeeeee....
Aren't ya proud?
hehehehe
